Welcome to Professor Gerson's Course, Politics & Film

This course examines the role of film in creating, expressing, revealing and responding to political and philosophical ideas and values. The course introduces students to some of these ideas by examining a variety of films and film styles and thinking about them in philosophical and political terms. The course will also introduce students to some elements of film history and theory and the role of film in forming our ideas about the world.
