O'Leary Library, located on South Campus, was established in 1974 and named for Dr. Daniel H. O'Leary, president of Lowell State College from 1950 to 1965. The University Library Circulation Desk is found on the 4th floor. Research & Learning and Library Administration offices are located on the 3rd floor.

Built in 1969, Lydon Library was named for Martin J. Lydon, president of the Lowell Textile Institute (A UML predecessor institution) for nearly 25 years. Located on North Campus, Lydon Library is home to most of the University Library's print collection. Physical journals are located in Lydon Library closed stacks and may be accessed upon request.

The Center for Lowell History was established in 1971 and is located in downtown Lowell, in the Mogan Cultural Center at 40 French Street. It is home to the University Library's Archives and Special Collections as well as the collections of a number of greater Lowell historical organizations. Hours 9:30am-5:00pm Monday through Thursday are by appointment, as well as the 3rd Saturday of the month 10:00am-3:00pm. Please note that Center for Lowell Library is open by appointment only.
