Biographical Note

Dennis McNally (1949- ) writer, historian, professor, and music publicist, authored the 1979 biography Desolate Angel: Jack Kerouac, The Beat Generation, and America as well as books on literary and musical figures including A Long Strange Trip: The Inside History of the Grateful DeadJerry on Jerry: The Unpublished Jerry Garcia Interviews, and On Highway 61: Music, Race and the Evolution of Cultural Freedom. 

 

Scope and Content

Corrected typescript and research materials for 1979 Kerouac biography Desolate Angel, correspondence, Italian translation (handwritten and typed), microfilm, permissions and release requests, photographs, and taped interviews.
