Data Management and Sharing

Research data can pile up fast- whether running multiple samples under the same conditions or running the same sample under multiple conditions. Good data management seeks to answer questions such as:

• How do I organize my files?
• How do I create meaningful file names?
• How do I document my files?
• How do I protect my data from damage or loss?

And there are more questions to answer for data sharing (covered in the next section) such as:

• What and how much data do I share?
• Where and when do I share that data?
• What are the ethical/privacy/confidentiality considerations surrounding this data?
