Zotero: Free Citation Management

What is Zotero?

Zotero is a reference manager designed to store, manage, and cite bibliographic references. Books, articles, websites, etc. each constitute an item for the purposes of the software.  Zotero can also collect and organize research information and sources.

Types of items to which Zotero can add metadata:

• articles
• reports
• web pages
• artwork
• films
• letters
• manuscripts
• sound recordings
• bills
• cases
• statutes.

Zotero is free to download and use; the only cost is for storage. As of July 2021, the first 300mb is free, the fee for 2gb is $20/year, for 6gb is $60/year and $120/year for unlimited storage.
