Searching Your EndNote Library

EndNote 21 search interfaceEndNote provides a powerful and flexible Search Library command that lets you locate specific references or groups of references. For example, you can select a very general search that scans the entire library or limit your searches to specific fields (such as Author or Keywords).

You can also create more complex searches using a variety of operators such as And, Or, Not, Greater than, Less than, and others.

Configure Fields

EndNote Preferences Display Fields menuWhen you search a library for citations, several options are listed. You can change these field displays in your preferences tab.

You can:

  • Add up to 10 display fields
  • Remove display fields
  • Reorder fields
  • Change the headings for fields
  • Choose to display the first author or all authors in the Author field
