ARHI.2030: History of Art: Prehistoric to Medieval

As a student at UMass Lowell you have access to a wealth of knowledge housed in subscription databases. For studying art history, one of the best databases is Artstor, which is an enormous collection of images from museums all over the world. It is easy to navigate; this guide offers a few simple skills to improve your experience.

Artstor is better than Google for studying architecture and art history: 
➔ you are allowed to download and use images in compliance with copyright,
➔ you can cite images just as you would text and Artstor allows you to export citations, 
➔ the image quality is much better than in Google, and you can zoom in for looking at details.

 Artstor also allows you to browse by museum collection, geographical location, historical era, or category of artifact.
