This exhibit, on display at the UMass Lowell Libraries Center for Lowell History starting in February 2020, draws from pamphlets, post cards, and artifacts, including a lithographic stone, to tell the history of patent medicine in Lowell, MA. The companies whose items are on display include the J.C. Ayer Co., C.I. Hood & Co., R.L. Haven Druggist, and F. & E. Bailey & Co. The items in this exhibit come from UMass Lowell Libraries and Lowell Historical Society holdings, as well as the personal collection of William Walsh. The exhibit was curated by Center for Lowell History Archives Manager Janine Whitcomb and local historian William Walsh.
