New York Times Group Pass

 

All UML students, faculty, and staff have access to the New York Times Digital Edition.

To get started, create your account.

Registering for an account

 

  1. Navigate to accessnyt.com
  2. In the "Find School..." field, enter "University of Massachusetts (Lowell) - Lowell, MA" and click on it
    • If you are on campus, click the "here" link
    • If you are off campus, click the "go" button
      • If you are off campus, you will be asked to enter your email address. Please enter your UML email address. Do not select "Continue with work or school single sign-on," this option will not work. 
  3. You will be asked to enter your UML email address and to select a password. You will also be notified of your account's expiration date and will be sent an email that will confirm your email address and your account.
    • The password you create is associated only with your NYT account, it is not tied to your University login and password. 

Account Renewal for UML Group Pass

 

To renew your access to the NYT through UML's group pass, visit accessnyt.com.

If you are already logged into your account, visit this page to view your expiration date. 

  • Faculty and Staff accounts are valid for four years - please note the year of expiration when you register for an account. After the expiration date, faculty and staff will need to renew their account.
  • Student accounts are granted access through their date of graduation, which is entered at the time of registration.

Already a Subscriber?

 

If you already subscribe to the New York Times through a personal subscription and would like to switch to using UML's Group Pass, please first note the differences in content access. UML's Group Pass does not include all features of an All Access subscription. 

If you already have a personal subscription not associated with your UML email address: 

  1. Simply contact NYT to cancel your personal subscription
  2. Follow the directions for registering for the UML Group Pass found above

If you have a personal subscription that is tied to your UML email address: 

  • Contact NYT at 1-800-591-9233, email customercare@nytimes.com, or visit the NYT to start a chat, and request the cancellation of your current subscription. After your subscription has been cancelled, you should be able to register your email for the UML Group Pass. If you are experiencing any trouble, please reach out to edu@nytimes.com.
