Kennedy College of Sciences Keep Learning FAQ's

❖ What is Zoom?
Zoom is a video-conferencing software that runs on desktop/laptop computers and cell phones. You can use it to broadcast lectures with students participating live. Zoom meetings can also be recorded.

❖How do I get Zoom?
UMass Lowell will provide you with a “Licensed” account that lets you hold full-length meetings with up to 300 guests (free accounts limit meetings to 40 mins). Request an account at helpdesk.uml.edu by choosing this series of menu options:

dialog box

Once your account is active, sign in at uml.zoom.us. Note this is a special link with our school initials at the beginning. Sign in using the “SSO” option with your UMass Lowell email address and password.

❖ Do my students need a Zoom account?
No.

❖ Can my students use Zoom from their phones?
Yes. To join by phone, they must download the Zoom app.
