The 10th Annual Deshpande Symposium

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education

The Deshpande Symposium is a gathering of like-minded practitioners with a focus on accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship across the university and college environment.

The Symposium provides a venue for attendees to learn from each other’s experiences; to gain wider exposure for their ideas, successes and startups; and to collaborate on activities that increase innovation and entrepreneurship in their communities.

The two day event will include panel presentations, interactive poster presentations, keynotes, workshops, an awards dinner and plenty of networking opportunities.

Guidelines

The conference sessions are structured around panel presentations on common themes. We encourage the submission of full-panel proposals that include presenters from multiple institutions, but will consider individual presentations that align with panel topics. All submissions should clearly identify which of the three conference tracks they align with:

1. Entrepreneurship in the Curriculum
2. University Commercialization and Startups
3. Developing Entrepreneurial Universities, Culture & Ecosystems

For individual proposals, we will do our best to match you to the most appropriate panel based on your area of interest and panel availability.

Each panel will be allocated 75 minutes. Target presentation length is 8 – 10 minutes per panelist. Maximum of 4 - 5 panelists per panel to allow time for audience interaction.
