Phitsamay Uy's area of expertise is Southeast Asian American students' educational experiences; family and community engagement and teaching diverse populations. She is a trainer in culturally competency and professional development.
Phitsmay Uy's primary research interest is academic achievement of immigrant and refugee students, particularly Southeast Asian Americans. she has done extensive research in to the role of families, community-members and school-community partnerships in encouraging academic achievement. She has experience in training school staff to meet diverse students' needs.
