Items of Value
For any property of value (e.g. ipods, cell phones, etc.) found or returned to a library service desk, the University Police are to be called immediately and the item handed over to them. Owners of lost property need to contact the University Police to retrieve valuables. If there is a question concerning the value of an item and a librarian is not available, the University Police should be notified.
Other Lost Items
Other items (coats, hats, notebooks, etc.) should be returned to a library service desk where they will be kept for a period of 2 weeks. If an owner has not picked up an item during that 2 week time, the item is to be disposed of.
Library Service Desk Designations
At Lydon Library the service desk for non-valuable items will be the Access Services Desk. At O’Leary there will be two service desks for non-valuable items. Any item returned to the 4th floor Access Services Desk is to be handled by the staff there. Any item returned to the 1st floor Information Desk is to be handled by the staff there.
