The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a Scientific society which is primarily based in United States of America (USA) which gives assistance to scientific query in the field of Chemistry. The ACS was founded in 1876 at New York university, at present it has more than 158,000 members at all degree levels and in all fields of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and it's related fields. It is a non-profit organization which holds a congressional charter under the title 36 of the United States Code. The headquarters of ACS is located in Washington, D.C.

The ACS is the key source of scientific guidance through its peer-reviewed scientific journals, national conferences, and the Chemical Abstracts Service. Their publications division delivers  scholarly journals including the prestigious Journal of the American Chemical Society, as well as the weekly trade magazine Chemical and Engineering News. The ACS conducts every year two meetings which cover the profound field of chemistry and also holds smaller conferences focusing on particular chemical fields or geographic regions. The prime source of income of the ACS is the Chemical Abstract Service, which allows you to access the chemical databases worldwide. 

The ACS also issues textbooks, controls several national chemistry awards, provides grants for scientific research, and gives assistance to various educational and outreach activities.
