Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Other Media

With most of the prominent cases for Don't Ask Don't Tell occurring in the 1990s, the 2000s were more focused on solving the problems that stemmed from its legalization. A key player in the ending of Don't Ask, Don't Tell was Congressman Martin Meehan, who introduced two versions of his "Military Readiness Enhancement Act", one in 2005 and the other in 2007. Taking such a strong stance for LGBT service members was a bold move, even in a time as current as the 2000s. Through much controversy and debate, the Don't Ask, Don't Tell repeal was finalized during the Obama Administration in 2011.
