The iMac workstations are equipped with a variety of peripherals, such as external hard drives, DVD writers, and card readers. Specialized computer imaging devices such as a flatbed scanner, 35mm slide scanner, and film recorder, are also offered. This equipment enables faculty and students to create rich digital media.
Production and video/audio editing assistance and instruction are available by appointment and on a walk-in basis.
Digital Services staff will help with digital conversions for CD, DVD, video and audio streaming, and hardcopy or OCR (optical character recognition) scanning – from hard copy to digital, from slides to computer, Mac and/or PC.
In the Digital Services Center, the UMass Lowell community has access to Adobe's powerful Creative Cloud; editing software which encompasses state of the art tools for every type of media production and editing.

The Digital Services Center has many different kinds of editing capabilities in addition to the Adobe suite. You can edit audio tracks using Audacity or Garage Band, use Wondershare Converter and MPEG Streamclip, or use Microsoft Office.
