Each student enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering department is assigned a faculty advisor. Faculty advisors are available throughout the semester for students to discuss academic and career options specific to their needs. Also, during every semester there is an “advising period” during which students will make arrangements with their advisors to discuss their academic progress, their upcoming class schedule, and potential co-op and career opportunities.
Advising is an opportunity for students to have access to the cumulative professional experience of the Mechanical Engineering faculty, as well as their expertise in the requirements of the curriculum. As students gain competency in the various disciplines of engineering, they can learn about the possible careers their studies prepare them for while at the same time staying on track for graduation.
