PSYCH.2720: Abnormal Psychology
College of FAHSS, UMass Lowell

Presents an introduction to the study of various patterns of mental, behavioral, and personality disorders with consideration of issues of diagnosis, etiology, and treatment in terms of contemporary theory, research, and practice.

Pre-Req: PSYC.1010 Intro to Psychological Science.

Course Objectives

Students who successfully complete this course will:

  • Understand and articulate the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship on economic development;
  • Develop an awareness and understanding of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process;
  • Integrate entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving into their academic and professional aspirations;
  • Articulate the different pathways to entrepreneurship including lifestyle businesses, high-tech/high growth entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to identify and evaluate new venture opportunities;
  • Demonstrate application of the fundamental skills and tools that are helpful in converting an opportunity to a new venture.
